The Hebrew University in Israel is offering a special program for American university students for the academic year 1955-56, it was announced here today by Dr. George S. Wise, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University and chairman of the university’s board of governors.
The program, while allowing university students to continue with their regular studies, will, on one year’s course, introduce them to the fundamentals of Jewish thought, history and literature and to modern Israel in its Middle Eastern setting, and will enable them to gain extensive knowledge of the Hebrew language. Special arrangements for transportation, housing, counseling and tuition have been made, and applications are to be submitted by March 15.
