Applications from American and Canadian collegians who wish to spend a year of study at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem will be accepted through January 15, 1959, it was announced here today by the American Friends of the Hebrew University.
The one-year study program, for both graduate and undergraduate American Students, in its fifth consecutive year, is under the direction of a committee headed by Prof. Oscar I. Janowsky of City College of New York. In addition to classroom study, the program includes tours of Israel and visits to historic and interesting sites.
The year-long program, which begins in July, 1959, is in two parts: the first, four-month course being devoted to intensive study of Hebrew at an Ulpan training center; the second eight months is devoted to courses at the University, including history, literature, Bible and related subjects. American students will share living quarters with Israeli students at the new campus at Givat Ram, Jerusalem.
