The World Jewish Congress announced today that it has nominated Mrs. Helen Suzman, for many years the sole representative of the Progressive Party in the South African Parliament, as a candidate for a UN human rights prize. Mrs. Suzman has long been universally recognized as the leading protagonist in the struggle against racial discrimination in her country. The awards are to be made on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
