Henryk Glizenstein, the well known Polish Jewish sculptor, was authorized by the Polish Government to prepare a model for a monument in memory of the Jewish soldiers who fell in the Polish wars.
The monument is to be erected in the Jewish cemetery in Warsaw. The amount of one million Zlotys is to be raised for this purpose among the Jewish communities in Poland.
Mr. Glizenstein was received yesterday by Prime Minister Count Skrzynski who praised Glizenstein as Poland’s greatest artist. He was also given permission to send his works of art to Venice for the purpose of exhibiting them at the International Art Exhibition. Mr. Glizenstein, however, will have to return his works to Poland after the exhibition.
On his arrival in Warsaw Mr. Glizenstein was invited to dinner by the nuncio.
