The possibility that the Herzl Memorial Committee will abandon its plan to erect a monument to the late Dr. Theodore Herzl, founder of political Zionism, was seen here due to the lack of response to the Committee’s efforts to raise funds for the monument. The Committee consists chiefly of non-Zionists and friends of the late leader.
A committee composed wholly of Zionists is being organized here to take over the plans of the Memorial Committee for the erection of a monument to Herzl in the Jewish cemetery after transferal of his remains for re-burial in Palestine.
