Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Chaim Herzog, warned against over-optimism about peace in the Middle East based on statements made by leaders of the Palestine Liberation Organization. On Thursday, Mayor Teddy Kollek of Jerusalem, currently visiting the U.S., addressed a luncheon of the National Rabbinic Cabinet of the IBO. He urged the leading American and Canadian rabbis present to have their congregations throughout North America participate in special events to mark the tenth anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.
