One thousand, three hundred and eighty-nine German-Jewish refugees were either permanently settled in other countries or repatriated by HICEM (HIAS-ICA), according to a report made public by the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), 425 Lafayette Street.

The report, issued from the Paris office, states that of the 1,389 Jewish refugees, 822 went to overseas countries, 163 were settled in European lands and 404 were repatriated. Seventy-two immigrated to Paraguay and the report of the local committee there states that these immigrants quickly adapt themselves to the new environments and that their future may be regarded as favorable.
