Abraham Herman, president, and John L. Bernstein, former president of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society, are on the their way from Palestine to Paris to attend the annual Ruth meeting of the Hias-Ica-Emigdirect (HICEM), according to a cable dispatch received by HIAS from its European representative. The sessions will commence June 17, and will deal mostly with the German-Jewish situation, particularly with regard to the problems facing the Jewish refugees.
Immediately after the Paris meeting Mr. Herman and Mr. Bernstein will leave for Russia, where they will investigate the possibilities of opening HIAS offices there to serve those desiring to immigrate to other countries.
