The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society announced today that it has cabled $26,000 to Lisbon for transportation of refugees released from French concentration camps and to conduct refugee-aid work in Lisbon and Marseille. In addition, HIAS cabled $2,000 to enable a group of Polish Jewish refugees stranded in Constanza, Rumania, to proceed to Palestine and $1,000 to Shanghai for transportation of a group of refugees to South America.
