The sum of $100,000 for the purpose of relieving the situation of the Jewish refugees in various European ports and in Cuba was assigned at a special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Immigrants Aid Society of America. The sum was subscribed following an appeal for $500,000 issued by Mr. Louis Marshall and Dr. Stephen S. Wise of the Emergency Committee on Jewish Refugees.
