Lewis Jones, director of the Middle East Division of the U.S. Department of State, left Israel today for Washington following a conference with Premier David Ben Gurion. The conference was held in Tiberias, where the Israeli Premier is resting. Mr. Jones’ visit to Israel is reported to be connected with American allocation of raw materials.
David Horowitz, Director-General of Israel’s Ministry of Finance, flew to the United States yesterday in connection with Israel’s note to the Four Powers claiming $1,500,000,000 reparations from Germany for Jewish victims of the Nazi regime. He will also hold a series of conferences with American Jewish leaders on the $500,000,000 Israeli bond drive in the United States.
