A discussion of the situation of Arab workers in this country and a report of their merger with Histadrut was heard by the Histadrut executive here today. The executive heard a report by E. Becker that 10,500 Arab workers had joined the Israel labor federation on an individual basis. At the same time, it was reported that Histadrut had opened five clinics in Arab villages and had developed cooperatives and even monetary institutions for them.
The Hebrew University announced today the enrollment of 35 new Arab and Druze students, including the only Arab woman student studying at the university. The new Arab freshmen bring the total of such students to 53, of whom 31 are enrolled in the new Faculty of Pharmacy and two in the Faculty of Dentistry.
