The Histadrut executive, by a 43-15 vote, last night adopted a resolution cutting two pounds and 370 mils from the monthly cost of living allowances granted workers in Israel. The action followed announcement of a 21-point drop in the cost of living index in the past three months.
The Histadrut resolution further provided that one-third of the wage cut approved in the resolution be deposited with the Finance Ministry for oventual refund, ponding an oxemination of the index. Mapam delegates at the stormy session of the executive maintained that the government index was fallacious.
