The Pioneer Women and the National Committee for Labor Israel announced plans today to create a $300, 000 community center in Carmiel, Israel, a new development town in western Galilee. The project will signify the close ties between the Israel Histadrut Campaign, ending its 40th year, and Pioneer Women, now celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The center will be a major link in the network of institutions serving pioneers and new immigrants. Half of the funds for the center, which will bear the Pioneer Women’s name, will be raised by Pioneer Women’s chapters, and the rest by the Histadrut, Israel’s Labor Federation.
