Approximately $2,500,000 is spent annually by the Sick Funds of the Histadruth to care for 112,000 members and their 213,000 dependents, it was reported here today at the opening session of a three-day conference of the Sick Funds attended by 226 delegates.
The conference was called chiefly for the purpose of finding ways and means to compel the Palestine Government to contribute towards the annual budget of the Sick Funds which guard the health of almost a half of the Jewish population in the country. The present contribution of the Palestine administration is only $2,400 a year.
