A new, neo-Nazi “united front” has been formed here, it was learned here today by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Friedrich Klein, former Hitler Youth Organization leader, admitted formation of the new grouping to the J.T.A., saying the title of the right-wing “umbrella” association is the “Union of Organizations Loyal to the People.”
Klein recently inherited the neo-Nazi leadership mantle of the late Karl Priester, of Wiesbaden, whom city police and state authorities called the head of an international neo-fascist movement. A police raid on Priester’s home last May disclosed evidence which, according to the authorities, uncovered an international fascist ring with connections in Arab countries as well as in the United States, Britain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Australia.
Klein had been Priester’s principal aide in attempting to convene a congress here last spring, under the banner of the so-called “Emergency Union of Organizations loyal to the Reich.” The meeting was called off after police authorities indicated they might raid the convention, if it were to be held.
