The renewal of anti-Semitic terroristic methods was reported today from Duisberg, Germany, where large crowds demonstrated before the district court building on the Koenigplatz, shouting “Out with the Jews!” The crowd finally entered the court and forcibly ousted all the Jewish lawyers present.

In Berlin, a well-known shoe concern with a number of branches throughout the city, was suddenly occupied by the Nazis who demanded the expulsion of all Jewish employees. All the branches and the main headquarters of the concern were shut down until the proprietor submitted to the Nazi demands.

A Jewish warehouse owner, confronted by a group of Nazis with a similar demand, courageously refused to yield. When he was ordered to dismiss coreligionists in his reply, he answered, “Their dismissal is possible only over my dead body!”

Since he is reported to have influential governmental connections, he was not molested by the Nazis, who left without having their demand complied with.
