Rabbi Irving F. Reichert of Temple Emanu-El, San Francisco, was elected president of the Pacific Coast Conference of Jewish Religious schools at its first annual session here. Other officers selected were:
Rabbi Henry Berkowitz, Portland, Ore., vice-president; John Gorfinkel, San Francisco, secretary, and Leslie Stusser, Seattle, treasurer. Rabbi Morris Goldstein, Mrs. M. C. Sloss, Rabbi William Stern and Cantor J. Rabinowitz, all of the San Francisco bay district, were elected members of the executive board.
It was decided to hold the second annual conference in Portland, Ore. The principal speaker was Dr. Emanuel Gamoran, director of religious education for the Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
