Prof. Willem Schermhorn, Socialist Deputy and the first Dutch Premier after the end of World War II, protested during a Parliamentary debate today against the Netherlands Government assuming the task of representing Israel interests in Moscow. Holland, he said, has too many interests in the Arab world to permit such an action.
Dr. Luns, Foreign Minister, replying to Dr. Schermerhorn, said that refusal by the Netherlands Government to grant Israel’s request would have been a political action, while accepting it was strictly an objective one.
