Holocaust survivor groups in Israel welcomed the establishment of a government committee to oversee the distribution of funds for survivors in the Jewish state. The move came after two Swiss banks agreed to a $1.25 billion settlement over dormant accounts dating from the Holocaust era, and as insurance companies are making offers to resolve claims against them.
