Thirty-two Jewish girls, arrested in Haifa last July and imprisoned in Bethlehem, in addition to twelve other immigrants who tried to enter the country illegally, were deported to their respective countries aboard a Greek vessel yesterday.
Four immigrants who entered Palestine unlawfully were tried here Friday. Prison sentences and deportation were meted out in three cases. A Soviet refugee named Israel Lichtman, who came here with two children, was merely subjected to a fine. It was recommended by the court that they be allowed to remain in Palestine in view of the circumstances of their flight from Soviet Russia.
