Honorary degrees were conferred here this week on the president of the University of Pennsylvania and members of the faculty of Harvard University and Hebrew Union College at Founder’s Day exercises of Dropsie College. Dr. Gaylord Harnwell, Pennsylvania’s president, received the degree of Doctor of Laws; Prof. George Sarton, Emeritus Professor of the History of Science at Harvard, received the degree of Doctor of Literature, and the degree of Doctor of Letters was conferred on Prof. Jacob R. Marcus, Professor of History at Hebrew Union College.
