Mrs. Sophia Celine Joseph, wife of Horace Joseph, who died at the Channing Sanitarium, Wellesley, Mass, in her seventy-fifth year and was buried here, was descended from one of Canada’s oldest Jewish families.
Mrs. Joseph was well known in Montreal and was active in charity work. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. William Sebag-Montefiore; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bertram Pinto and Miss Rachel Joseph, both of London, England; and three brothers, Montefiore Joseph of Quebec, and Scott and Jesse Joseph, who are living in the United States.
