Horthy Bestows High Honor on Hungarian Jew

Col. Martin Zoeld of the Hungarian army was elevated by an order of Admiral Horthy, the regent, to the rank of general. The appointment was made for the extraordinary service rendered by Col. Zoeld during the World War and the post war period.

Col. Zoeld is the first Hungarian Jew to be raised to this rank. He takes an active part in Jewish affairs in the country.
