Hosni Mubarak criticized an Israeli anti-terrorist raid during a meeting with Ehud Olmert that had been expected to produce help for a kidnapped Israeli soldier. The Egyptian president and the Israeli prime minister’s meeting Thursday in Sharm el-Sheik was expected to focus on procuring the release of Cpl. Gilad Shalit, taken by Palestinian gunmen in June. Reports said the meeting, which also was to address wider issues of regional peace, was strained due to the deaths of four Palestinians in a Ramallah raid earlier that day.
