Rumors that the anti-Nazi mass meeting scheduled for the Hotel Greystone Tuesday night was obliged to move because of pressure brought to bear by Nazi guests were denied yesterday the hotel’s management.
“It is simply that we wish to remain non-partisan,” Elliot S. Ryan, the manager said, “and we did not know beforehand that the meeting was of an anti-Nazi nature.” He explained that arrangements for the meeting had been made under the name “Minute Men” and that only at the last moment did he discover that the full name of the organization was “Anti-Nazi Minute Men.”
The meeting was moved to the True Sisters Building, 150 West Eighty-Fifth street, where James W. Gerard, the principal speaker, urged continuance of the anti-German boycott.
