A bi-partisan resolution introduced in the House of Representatives today called on President Nixon to have the United States urge the United Nations Security Council to condemn the “brutal act of violence” by Arab terrorists yesterday in Maalot. The resolution adopted unanimously yesterday by the Senate did not contain this request. Both resolutions urged the White House to ask countries harboring terrorists to rid their lands of them. The House resolution, drafted by Rep. Sidney Yates (D.III.) was introduced with 321 sponsors by the leaders of the two parties. Reps. Thomas P. O’Neill (D. Mass.) and John J. Rhodes (R. Ariz.). A vote is expected next week.
