In an intensive penny membership campaign tomorrow the Lower East Side Public Housing Conference will start off the events of better Housing Week program with concerted impetus.
Mayor LaGuardia will open the campaign by becoming the first member. Hundreds of boys, girls, and mothers from clubs affiliated with settlement houses in the Lower East Side will assemble at Madison House, 226 Madison street, at 11A.M. From there the group will march to City Hall and attend the ceremony at which the Mayor will be the principal figure.
The campaign is intended to increase the present large membership of slum dwellers which the Lower East Side Public Housing Conference represents.
