Hundreds of Polish Jews, threatened with loss of Polish citizenship under a recently enacted law, today faced the prospect of existence as “staat-enlose,” or persons without a State. Their passports are no longer recognized by the Polish authorities, although officially they have not yet been taken off the citizenship rolls. Intervention of Jewish organizations with the Warsaw authorities has so far proved futile.
