Hundreds of Lebanese in the southern part of the country fled their homes expecting Israeli reprisals after Hezbollah gunmen launched Katyusha rocket attacks on northern Israel. Meanwhile, the United States urged restraint on Israel and Lebanon in the wake of the events on both sides of the border.
