Hungary’s sponsorship of a Budapest Cultural Week in Jerusalem should not be interpreted as an official acceptance of the city as the capital of Israel according to Hungarian officials.
Previously, the event has been held in Tel Aviv, Budapest’s sister city. This is the first time Jerusalem is the host city for the cultural event, scheduled to end April 10.
During the week, which is sponsored by Malev Hungarian Airlines, Israelis can enjoy Hungarian music and folk dance and Hungarian Jewish humor.
