An appeal to the democratic peoples of the world to support the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine was embodied in a resolution adopted here by a nation-wide conference of the Zionist Federation of Hungary.
A second resolution hailed the majority report of the United Nations Special Committee on Palestine, particularly its recognition of the right of large numbers of Jews to immigrate to Palestine. Other resolutions called for surrender of the British Mandate and its replacement by an international authority during the transition period leading to Jewish statehood, and pledged support for the Haganah’s fight to cradicate extremism in Palestine.
