The first national convention of the Zionist Organization of Hungary was opened here on Monday, April 9. One hundred and five delegates were present at the opening session, which took place in the old parliament building. Dr. Straus, well known Orientalist, opened the convention.

By a unanimous decision the convention voted to send a message of greeting to Admiral Horthy, Regent of Hungary, and to Prime Minister Bethlen. The agenda is devoted mainly to a consideration of ways and means of building up the growing organization in Hungary. It was reported that the opposition to the Zionist Organization in the country is now limited to the Orthodox Landeskanzlei and to Dr. Paul Sandor, who continue their objections.

The liberal Jewish groups remain neutral.
