Hungary Permits Schechita Without Stunning

Following representations made to the government by the Jewish Community, the Minister of Agriculture announced that Schechita would be permitted without previous stunning of the animals.

This is an exemption from the law adopted at the insistance of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The law provides that animals must be stunned before killing.
