A resolution urging that Israel be given the opportunity to obtain defensive weapons and stressing that world peace depends on the security of Israel was adopted here yesterday at the convention of the International Ladies Garment Work-as Union. The resolution underscored the contention that world peace was intertwined with the question of Israel and said that if the world wanted a guarantee of peace it must guarantee Israel the right to defend itself.

The convention also approved a resolution supporting the continuance of the union’s policy of helping friendly organizations. Groups included in this category are Histadrut–the Israeli labor federation, ORT and the United Hias Service.
