The International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union which is holding its convention here, today announced that it will contribute another $1, 000, 000 for the completion of the Kupat Holim Hospital in Beersheba, Israel, now being built with the financial aid of the ILGWU. This will be the second $1, 000, 000 contributed by the labor union for the Israel Beersheba Hospital.
The announcement was made at a luncheon of 200 ILGWU leaders here at which Luigi Antonini, first vice-president, delivered an address in which he assured the support of the union to Israel and the Histadrut–Israel’s Federation of Labor–as long as such support will be needed. Ephraim Yivron, representative of the Histadrut executive, greeted the ILGWU leaders on behalf of Israel’s organized labor movement.
