The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced yesterday that its 119 member nations will meet beginning June 16 for emergency consideration of measures to insure aviation security. The session, to last 15 days, is only the second emergency meeting of the ICAO in its 23-year history. The participants will concentrate on the prevention of sabotage and the production of passengers. United Nations Secretary General U Thant reaffirmed the UN’s support for the ICAO’s efforts, which he said were consonant with last December’s General Assembly resolution calling on all member nations to assure airline security. He condemned airline hijacking and sabotage as “reprehensible.”
