Immigration Suspended for a Year in Uruguay

The Uruguay parliament has passed a law severely restricting immigration into the country for a period of one year, the Hias-Ica-Emigdirekt headquarters here states, having received a cable to this effect from its office in Montivideo.

The law is to be promulgated immediately and will go into force 60 days after promulation – about the middle of August.
