The West German Bundestag deprived of Parliamentary immunity today Hans Krueger, who was suspended last February from his post as Minister for Refugees in Ludwig Erhard’s first Nazi-past scandal as Chancellor.
Krueger, who was the only new member of the West German Cabinet to take office with Chancellor Erhard last October as the Chancellors person, choice, came under East German charges of having been a judge in a Nazi terror court. After denying the charges despite publication of documentary proof by the East Germans, Krueger was suspended by the Chancellor.
An investigator of the Coesfeld court in Westphalia has asked the Israel Consulate in Cologne for a visa to visit Israel for further investigation into the charges against Krueger.
