Important changes were announced officially today in the high command of Israel’s Air and Naval forces. The commander of the Air Force, Aharon Remez, was relieved at his own request of his post. However, he will remain on service in the armed forces and will receive a special leave for studies. He will be replaced by Shlomo Shamir, commander of the Naval Forces. The Chief of Naval Operations, Mordecai Limon, will become acting commander of the Naval Forces.
Mordecai Namir, former Israel Minister to Moscow, was today unanimously elected secretary-general of the Histadrut, Israel’s Federation of Labor.
