In a press interview today, the representative of Ibn Saoud, Sultan of Nejd and leader of the Wahabis, denied reports that the Wahabis had committed acts of violence at Taif, a city sixty miles from Mecca. “The town was seized without great losses”, he affirmed.
The attack upon the city was made after Ibn Saoud had warned Hussein to leave the Hedjas, but Hussein refused. “This time the Wahabis are going to conquer Mecca, according to the wish of the Moslem world, especially of the Moslems of India”, he declared.
