In order to improve the quality of teacher-training in Palestine, a Department of Education will be established at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, by an American Committee sponsored by the National Council for Jewish Education, it was announced here yesterday.
The Department will provide opportunities for graduate studies in pedagogy by teachers employed in the public and private schools in Palestine. It is planned that the new Department will also carry on research and experimentation with the idea of promoting the Palestinian school system.
