In view of the brevity of the above Bucharest cablegram despite the seriousness of the disturbances described, the J.T.A. is of the opinion that reports are being censored by the Roumanian government. The seriousness of the situation is confirmed by the cablegram from Vienna.

Forty five are reported wounded in the anti Semitic disturbances which have been going on the past several days in Roumania.

The anti-Semites first besieged a Jewish Theatre in Bucharest where American Jewish actors were performing and brutally assaulted Jewish theatre goers and passersby. According to reports the government has finally decided to take steps to end the riots, fearing the unsavory impression the disorders will create outside of Roumania.
