Gerson W. Brodie, Denver petroleum geologist, told the American Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry today that “initial results of drillings for oil in Israel lend encouragement to the belief that oil and gas, in commercially usable forms and quantities, will be found in Israel.”
He reported that “several shows of oil and gas have already been found.” in structure holes and in deeper bore holes. Such oil and gas shows, he said, “are deemed extremely encouraging; they go hand in hand with the surface oil and gas seeps that have been known in Israel for centuries.”
