Fifty-two persons were injured, some seriously, in a clash between May Day demonstrants and Polish Fascisti, who arrived at the Theatre Square soon after the exercises had closed.

The injured include fifteen Fascisti, according to a First Aid report. Of the Jewish workmen only a few thousand members of the Fund and Poale Zion participated. Most of the speeches were in Polish, but there were Yiddish speeches by Deputies Ehrlich and Lew.

The Fascisti attack was obviously aimed at the Jewish workmen, only banners displayed from their stands having been torn down and trampled upon. Desperate resistance was offered by the workman in a battle which lasted over an hour amidst scenes of excitement unequaled in Warsaw.
