The Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference which is taking place here, today rejected an invitation from Lebanon to hold ### next meeting in Beirut because it was felt that Lebanon would discriminate against Israel and Jewish delegates by barring them from the country.
Lebanon’s invitation was turned down after Israel delegate Chaim Ariav pointed out that there was no assurance that all nations would be free to attend. The council of the Union considered the question raised by Israel and voted to reject the offer by Lebanon. The next meeting will take place in Vienna instead.
