Dr. Sol Stein, national executive director of the 40-year-old Israel Histadrut Campaign, sponsored by the National Committee for Labor Israel, announced today that the organization has recently received a definitive, favorable ruling from the Internal Revenue Service declaring the campaign to be tax exempt and that contributions made to the campaign are deductible by the donors.
The same tax exemption ruling also exempts bequests, legacies, devises, transfers or gifts for federal estate and gift tax purposes, Dr. Stein stated. He stressed that he has been advised by counsel that the Israel Histadrut Campaign meets the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service as published in its recent ruling regarding the deductibility of contributions made to American philanthropic organizations with overseas programs.
