The sixth triennial convention of the International Council of Jewish Women opened here today with delegates of women’s organizations in various parts of the world attending the four day conclave, Among the subjects to be discussed during the sessions are community services, the United Nations, the status of women and Jewish education.
Speakers at the convention include Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver of Cleveland; Dr. Isaac Toubin, executive director of the American Association for Jewish Education; and Julia Henderson, director of Social Affairs for the United Nations. Among the delegates attending the convention are representatives of Jewish women’s groups in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, England, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States.
