The International Materials Conference today announced the allocation of 2,000 long tons of crude sulphur to Israel for the first six months of 1952. This amount met Israel’s import quota in full.
Egypt and Iraq are among the states which have not given the United States satisfactory assurances required under the Mutual Security Act of 1951, with respect to economic or technical assistance, it was learned here. American representatives are continuing discussions with Egypt and Iraq. When satisfactory assurances are received, assistance will be resumed. Military assistance is also being withheld from the two states, according to informed sources.
