The International Refugee Organization has agreed to extend legal and political protection to Jewish refugees and DP’s not only in camps and training centers but also those living in private residences throughout Italy, it was announced here today. The agreement came after protracted negotiations between the I.R.O. and the Jewish Refugee Organization. The I.R.0. guarantees are most important at this time because the Italian Government has recently intensified its control of foreigners and many Jewish refugees who live outside the camps have already been asked to leave the country as “undesirable aliens.”
